03 DEC21- "Sanitary controls at Ecuador's airports, both on the mainland and on the islands, intensify this month with the alert of the circulation in the world of the omicron variant of COVID-19. To this end, the authorities developed a series of guidelines that local and foreign travelers must comply with when entering Ecuadorian territory by air, in accordance with what was resolved on November 29 by the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE).
In the case of travelers arriving in Ecuador and even the Galápagos Islands, they must also comply with several parameters, such as the presentation of the negative result of a PCR test up to 72 hours before boarding and a complete vaccination certificate (two doses) with at least fourteen days of validity.
Within the regulations determined by the national COE, the entry of passengers from eight countries on the African continent was restricted, as a point of origin or stopover. These are: South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Egypt. In an update of the guidelines, dated December 1 of this year, the Ministry of Health determined that regarding Ecuadorian travelers and permanent legal residents in the country who have been in those eight nations in the last fourteen days,
they will be able to enter the country with a negative result of a qualitative real-time RT-PCR test performed up to 72 hours before embarking to Ecuador and upon entering the country they must comply with a fourteen-day quarantine regardless of their vaccination status. If a suspicious case is reported, a PCR test will be carried out. If the test is positive, the citizen must perform fourteen days of isolation." -

MON 06OCT25 #ParoDay15#Ecuador #ParoNacional2025 #PUYO The community of Puyo, today marched against the government of Daniel Noboa. Strong repression and arrogance of the authorities is causing more and more sectors to join the National Unemployment protests. Today marks 15 days of protests." -
SUN 05OCT25 (11:03) #ParoDay14 #Quito #Ecuador Pres Noboa: "No one can come and take by force the capital of all Ecuadorians.
To those who choose violence, the law awaits them. To those who act like criminals, they will be treated as criminals.
We continue doing what is our duty: we will be in Pastaza tomorrow, together with those who truly build the country, helping those who need it most to produce more and get ahead." - (1/2)
"While some want to stop Ecuador, we propel it forward.
We will reduce the VAT to 8% during the holidays of October 9, and November 2 and 3, because this country is not going to grind to a halt because of a few who lost the business of smuggling and illegal mining.
To boost the local economy, on November 14 we will pay the thirteenth salary to public employees,
so families will have more money during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We invite the private sector to join this initiative." - (2/2)
