🥴we gonna have lotts more to talk about this week:
26JUN22 Day#14 #ParoNacionalEcuador - “The leaders of the three indigenous movements that lead the national strike denied that a dialogue had been opened with the government, after attending a meeting with the president of the National Assembly,
Virgilio Saquicela, and various state authorities. CONAIE leader Leonidas Iza clarified that no agreement has been reached and that the fight continues in Quito and in the territories. Iza, during a broadcast on the social network Facebook,
pointed out that out of respect they heeded Saquicela's invitation and none of the requests made to the government were addressed at the meeting. At the meeting, among other topics, they talked about what happened Friday in the Agora of the Casa de la Cultura.
"At the time we were making decisions, all the presidents of peoples and nationalities were brutally evicted, for which, after some invitations, out of respect for a function of the State, we have come to talk about all these issues," said Iza.
Leaving the meeting with representatives of CONAIE, international organizations, the Minister of Government, Secretary of the Republic and the Foreign Minister, Saquicela referred to a dialogue that began with the idea of creating a commission
and being able to set up a table to deal with the points that are requested from the movements. "It is an advance, a beginning, for now it is the only commitment that there is and the opening of the government to deal with this issue of solution," said Saquicela.
The request from the Assembly is that tensions and confrontations be lowered if dialogues begin.” -
