👨🔬 Francisco Pérez, Undersecretary of Epidemiological Surveillance of Ecuador,
☣️assured that the pandemic continues with a stable trend towards the decline of confirmed cases , positivity and mortality . They hope that these results will continue.
Regarding vaccination , he explained that 7 million people already have the booster dose and that another campaign is planned.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Education, Andres Chiriboga , announced that, by having the two school systems operational, 4.3 million students are registered attending classes nationwide.
In this context, he pointed out that approximately 75% of students have been vaccinated with both doses and that 500,000 already have the first booster dose.
In the case of teachers , 98% have the complete vaccine schedule (two doses).
Chiriboga announced that 389 students have been infected with covid-19 and that there is only one isolated teacher.
The deputy minister asks not to attend classes in case of presenting symptoms of covid or monkeypox to avoid contagion in the classrooms.
So far no case of monkeypox has been recorded in the national education system.
Ecuador already has 59 cases of monkeypox , of which 10 have been registered in women. 226 cases are suspected and 36 people are in home isolation.
It was also known that the Ministry of Health requested the vaccines to apply them in the population.
The Minister of Labor, Patricio Donoso, said that the decision of the duality of teleworking with face-to-face work was very effective for the care of workers and clients .
The president of the National COE , Juan Zapata , said that the Emergency Operations Committee resolved that due to the data recorded by the MSP
which totaled 970 cases in the last epidemiological week , it represents the lowest number during the entire pandemic.
Due to this, the voluntary use of a mask in open spaces is resumed and the mandatory use continues in closed spaces such as public transport, air transport, health centers and spaces where distancing is not guaranteed.
