28SEP22- 🛫US B1B bombers Surveillance flights in the Galapagos for illegal China mega fishing vessels-
"On September 7, a group of B-1B Lancer strategic bombers carried out a roundtrip mission to Ecuador in support of the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM).
This type of missions carried out by the Bomber Task Force (BTF) is usually called CONUS to CONUS in reference to the departure from the continental region of the United States ( Continental US or CONUS) with return to the same area.
The bomber force took off from Dyess Air Base in Texas to the USSOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR), and specifically to the coast of Ecuador in the vicinity of the Galapagos Islands.
During the mission, the bombers collaborated with allied nations and countered illegal , unreported , and unregulated (IUU) fishing operations in Galapagos. Aerial refueling aircraft deployed from MacDill Air Force Base in Florida were also used to extend the range of the bombers.
The US Air Force highlights the commitment of the United States in the region with countries such as Ecuador and Panama and that with missions like these this commitment is reinforced and
interoperability is improved to act jointly in various scenarios such as combat but also humanitarian assistance after natural disasters.
It is the fourth time so far this year that the US Air Force's 7th Bomb Wing has flown one of these CONUS to CONUS missions after having moved to the Royal Air Force air base in Fairfold, UK. Kingdom,
another mission to the Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) area of responsibility and another to the Africa Command (USAFRICOM) area of responsibility.
In addition, after returning from these missions, aircraft and crews must be ready again for any situation in a matter of hours." -
"This bomber can carry 24 nuclear bombs or 84 short range attack missiles (SRAMs) and has great "stealth" features. It can accelerate past the speed of sound and 40,000 ft is its standard operating ceiling."
-"Ecuador may soon be the only last US ally in South America. The rest of the countries will join or cooperate with the BRIC nations and the SCO. Even possibly Colombia."- ⛑️🪖🥾👨🏼🎤
