18OCT22- (GYE) 🛩A small plane crashed this afternoon between the Sauces 1 and Alborada sectors in north Guayaquil.
Two people in the plane were killed and one person injured.
Amateur videos showed how a cloud of black smoke rose from the scene of the accident.
The plane was consumed by fire and its remains scattered in an area near a park. The Guayaquil Fire Department arrived at the site to control the fire.
The mayor of Guayaquil, Cynthia Viteri, who was passing through the area, said that she witnessed how the plane crashed.
She said that there are two deceased and one injured. Viteri said the pilot looked for a place to crash so as not to cause further damage because Sauces 1, which adjoins La Alborada, is a highly populated area.

According to the Directorate of Civil Aviation, the aircraft covered the Manta-Guayaquil route.''-
