30NOV22- "As of January 1, 2023, the unified basic salary will rise to $450. This is stated in Executive Decree 611, dated November 30, and signed by President Lasso. The document is available on the website of the Presidential Platform.
The amount was set by the government -according to the Labor Code- in the absence of an agreement between workers and employers to establish the basic salary for the following year. This is an increase of $25 compared to the current value, which is $425.
For 2022, the Executive was also in charge of determining the salary and raised it by $25. One of his campaign offers to Guillermo Lasso was that during his government the basic salary would rise by 100 dollars (from $400 to $500), which implies an increase of $25 each year." -
