23 MAR 2021- 'Ecuador's president: Ecuador doesn't have a vacination plan.-
Lenín Moreno: "We thought there was (a vaccination plan) ... surely it was only in the head of the minister"
President Lenín Moreno admitted this Tuesday, March 23, 2021 that there is no vaccination plan in the country, despite the fact that this process began two months ago, on January 21.
"We thought that there was (a vaccination plan) because on more than one occasion it was expressed in the media, but that, surely, it was only in the head of the minister (Juan Carlos Zevallos)," said Moreno.
The president assured that all the last weekend, the new Minister of Health, Mauro Falconí, "worked tirelessly to be able to produce a plan that could really be useful."
Moreno gave these statements during a visit to the Monte Sinaí hospital, in Guayaquil, where he began vaccinating older adults in that city. There he also spoke about the vaccines applied to him and to his close circle.
"All the security regulations state that in the event of war, in the event of epidemics, the epidemiological circle must be established in which the circle close to the Presidency is supported," he justified.
The first time the Ministry of Health announced a vaccination plan was on December 15. Zevallos assured that there was a plan through a public-private alliance to apply the two doses against covid-19 to 60% of the population in four phases.
Zevallos resigned from the Ministry of Health on February 26, amid a scandal over the vaccination of people who should not be immunized in phase 0. It includes the minister, his mother and other government officials.
Then Rodolfo Farfán took office, who was in charge of the Ministry of Health for 18 days and resigned on March 19. Six days earlier, the institutional manager of the National Vaccination Plan Management, Robert Tandazo Soto, also resigned.
At the event at the Monte Sinaí hospital, Minister Falconí seconded Moreno's statements. He claimed that he did not find "a structured plan" and that he put one together in 72 hours."--

Do some research and consider yourself lucky that this poison isn't being pushed on the Ecuadorian people."
