16MAY24 👨‍⚕️‍⚕️👩‍⚕️The Government of the United States donated two field hospitals to Ecuador to meet the needs of the inhabitants of Alausí, which in 2023 suffered a large avalanche in which 75 people died. The delivery of both hospitals, which are valued at $2.1 million and have the capacity to care for up to 80 patients simultaneously,🎪

responds to a pressing need in the health sector in that area of the province of Chimborazo, where landslides continue to affect the area. These hospitals are already enabled and, according to data from the Ministry of Health, from January to April 2024, the average number of people treated per day is 136 in different areas such as cardiology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and traumatology, and medicine. internally, as specified in a statement by the United States Embassy in Ecuador.
Alausí is located in the Andean province of Chimborazo, where on March 26, 2023, a large avalanche occurred when part of one of the surrounding mountains fell, burying a sector of the population. In that event, 75 people lost their lives, of which nine were reported missing after rescue efforts failed to find their bodies

among the enormous amount of tons of earth on which dozens of houses were buried. On the anniversary of that tragedy, local authorities warned that little progress had been made with the remediation work , since the avalanche area remains unstable and there are more homes that remain in a risk zone." - Photo courtesy: US Embassy Ecuador- 🏞

MON 06OCT25 #ParoDay15#Ecuador #ParoNacional2025 #PUYO The community of Puyo, today marched against the government of Daniel Noboa. Strong repression and arrogance of the authorities is causing more and more sectors to join the National Unemployment protests. Today marks 15 days of protests." -

SUN 05OCT25 (11:03) #ParoDay14 #Quito #Ecuador Pres Noboa: "No one can come and take by force the capital of all Ecuadorians.

To those who choose violence, the law awaits them. To those who act like criminals, they will be treated as criminals.

We continue doing what is our duty: we will be in Pastaza tomorrow, together with those who truly build the country, helping those who need it most to produce more and get ahead." - (1/2)

"While some want to stop Ecuador, we propel it forward.

We will reduce the VAT to 8% during the holidays of October 9, and November 2 and 3, because this country is not going to grind to a halt because of a few who lost the business of smuggling and illegal mining.

To boost the local economy, on November 14 we will pay the thirteenth salary to public employees,

so families will have more money during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We invite the private sector to join this initiative." - (2/2)
