12SEP24- "The Emre Bey power generation ship began delivering 101.3 megawatts of energy to Ecuador in the experimental phase, starting on the night of September 12. With this, the National Energy Control Center (CENACE) will verify that the motors and other equipment work correctly and,
once it is determined that these have been satisfactory, the plant will begin to operate commercially. Each pair of engines occupies a 20-meter-long chamber, four floors below the ship's deck. And six of these large engines will provide 100 megawatt hours of energy to Ecuador.
Turkish company Karpowership, specialized in the construction and operation of floating power plants, began official production operations from the south of Guayaquil. The plant will temporarily operate from the old Ecuagran docks, on the banks of the Guayas River. The ship was interconnected on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
And on the night of Thursday, September 12, as part of the previous synchronization requirements of CENACE, which supervises stability and operation, the barge delivered 101.3 MW to the national system. Link has a video with more shots of the interior of the powership...." -
