Amid Ecuador's energy crisis, with blackouts lasting up to 14 hours a day, the acting Minister of Energy and Mines, Inés Manzano, confirmed Colombia's refusal to supply energy to Ecuador.
The confirmation came after a meeting held yesterday, Monday, October 28, between the official and her Colombian counterpart, Andrés Camacho.
In an interview with the Colombian media outlet Caracol, Manzano expressed her disappointment with the response from Colombia's Minister of Energy, Andrés Camacho.
"We were expecting a favorable response," stated the official.
Considering the difficult energy situation in Ecuador, Manzano believed it would be possible to reach an agreement but noted, "we must also respect Minister Camacho’s decision."
The refusal from Colombia worsens the situation in Ecuador, which continues to seek solutions to alleviate the energy crisis." -
