The President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, will attend the inauguration of the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump. This event is scheduled for next Monday, January 20, in Washington, as announced this Sunday by the Foreign Ministry.
Strengthening bilateral relations
For the Noboa administration, attendance at the ceremony of Trump's new presidential term "reaffirms the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the United States," according to the Ecuadorian Executive in a statement.
Trump's inauguration will take place on January 20, on Martin Luther King Day, in a ceremony that combines centuries-old traditions with modern protocols. The inauguration is held at the Capitol in Washington DC, where four years ago, Trump supporters broke into Biden's inauguration.
The Ecuador-United States relationship
The Ecuadorian president, born in Miami (United States), has traveled to the North American country on numerous occasions since he assumed his presidential mandate in November 2023. His trips include both official visits and personal visits.
