The National Agency for Regulation, Control and Sanitary Surveillance (Arcsa) and the Dairy Industry Center (CIL) have signed a technical cooperation framework agreement with the aim of strengthening the sustainable development of the dairy sector in Ecuador, guaranteeing the quality and safety of products for consumers.
During the signing ceremony, the executive director of Arcsa, Daniel Sánchez Procel, and the director of CIL, Verónica Chávez Man-Ging, highlighted the importance of this alliance for the regulation and growth of the dairy production sector.
The executive director of Arcsa highlighted that “within the CIL there is a significant number of companies that generate dairy production for the School Food Plan,
a fundamental program to combat child malnutrition; therefore, this agreement represents a significant advance for the country.”
For her part, the director of the CIL pointed out that “this agreement will allow us to work hand in hand with Arcsa to strengthen the sector, promote adequate nutrition, take care of the health of consumers and, above all, promote the formalization of the country's dairy producers.”

During President Rafael Correa’s administration between 2007 and 2017, Ecuador pivoted by severing its military relations with the US.

However, this period of strained relations was followed by the re-establishment of the Office of Security Cooperation (OSC) in 2018, signaling a potential shift that ultimately materialized with new military cooperation agreements signed with the US in 2023 under President Lasso and ratified in 2024 by President Daniel Noboa. ...
