27APR25🚨#Ecuador "The erosion of the Coca River continues unabated, and every winter it advances closer to the Coca Codo Sinclair reservoir , the country's largest hydroelectric plant .
The downpour on April 6 , when the flow reached 1,440 cubic meters per second, reactivated the natural phenomenon that threatens infrastructure . So far this month, erosion has advanced 1,400 meters.
A Televistazo team reached the erosion front and confirmed that the distance to the Coca Codo catchment dump has been reduced to four kilometers and seven hundred meters.
As you walk along the riverbed, you can hear the current carrying stones, sticks and sand , while constantly forming new sinkholes.
At first glance, one can see how the fragile sediment slowly crumbles, deepening the riverbed.
The phenomenon doesn't occur in the same way on the erosion front . On the right bank, next to the mountain, the sinkhole reaches three meters . And on the left bank, where the SOTE pipelines, the OCP pipeline , and the Quito-Lago highway cross , it reaches two meters.
Erosion began in 2020 and has spread 15 kilometers (9,800 feet) in five years . But the current situation is particularly disturbing. Carolina Bernal , a professor at the National Polytechnic University who is researching this unique case, says it has now reached a fragile point in the soil composition that is accelerating its erosion.
"At the site where the erosion front is, the rock is much easier to erode than what we had lower down, so with a smaller flood than we were used to, erosion is advancing rapidly. It's going to happen faster now."
If erosion averaged three kilometers per year , there would be little time left for it to travel the remaining 4.7 kilometers to reach the catchment.
"It depends not only on the lithology, but also on the flow rates. We'll see the most significant changes in how the rains will be in June or July."
Although Bernal prefers not to make a definitive prediction about the future of Coca Codo Sinclair , he is firm in pointing out that the protection works carried out by the Electric Corporation of Ecuador have not been adequate or constructed in a timely manner..."🌊

If as a lawyer you are found guilty of having bribed a judge or prosecutor or you are that judge or prosecutor bribed, it is impossible for us to think that it is coherent that we can once again entrust them with their participation in the system of administration of justice.
A corrupt judge, lawyer or prosecutor must be banned for life from practicing the profession. Let them go out to sweep streets or pass cafes, but in this profession they cannot participate again. Because without Justice there is no State and they have made sure that Ecuador is a failed State.
But I am more radical: I propose that the perpetual inability to practice the profession ...

The United States announced the elimination of reciprocal tariffs for certain Ecuadorian exports, following the conclusion of a new agreement promoted by President Donald Trump and President Daniel Noboa.
The understanding incorporates chapters of trade, work, environment and security, with the aim of providing greater competitiveness and relief to the export sector of Ecuador.
The Minister of Production and Foreign Trade, Luis Jaramillo, stressed that this framework "will lay the foundations of trade, economic and national security relations", emphasizing that the agreement marks a decisive step to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Ecuadorian Government, the measure will allow to expand opportunities for domestic products and strengthen the bilateral agenda in strategic areas for development and security." -
