June 11, 2021- 'International Air Transport Association will launch vaccination pass-
"The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that next week it will launch its mobile application for passengers to prove that they are vaccinated or that they have tested negative for covid-19.
The application is designed so that users can import their vaccination certificates or their negative coronavirus tests on their mobile phones to have them on a platform with a standard format that is readable by all the airlines that are part of the association.
According to a statement from the entity, the application will allow users to identify “governments with the means to verify the authenticity of tests or vaccines and the identity of those who present their certificates;
airlines with the ability to provide accurate information to their passengers on testing requirements and verify that a passenger meets the requirements for travel; laboratories with the means to issue certificates to passengers that will be recognized by governments;
and travelers with accurate information on testing requirements, where they can be tested or vaccinated, and the means to securely transmit the results / certificates to airlines and border authorities.
The airlines that are part of the association manage 80% of the world's air traffic.

Global airlines represented by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) welcomed the relaxation this week of border measures for vaccinated travelers in Spain and France, although it regretted that there are no similar steps forward in other European countries.
The association, whose airlines manage 80% of world air traffic, described as positive Spain's decision to open its borders to the majority of vaccinated travelers around the world and allow the entry of EU travelers with a test of negative antigens.
"It is encouraging to see European countries taking steps to reopen borders, recognizing the opportunity that opens with vaccinations, but this strategy does not occur across the continent," said IATA Director General Willie Walsh, who called for a more unified strategy in this regard.
The organization also reported today that global demand in air transport in April improved compared to the previous month, although it continued at levels lower than those prior to the pandemic (-65.4% year-on-year in the fourth month of the year, when in the third was -66.9%).
The improvement was especially noticeable in some domestic markets, as the figures for international flights remained very low (-87.3% compared to last year in April, a figure very similar to the -87.8% in March).
Europe and the Middle East were the worst hit regions in April, with more than an 81% year-on-year drop, while the smallest drops were in North America (-50.7%) and Asia Pacific (-57.2%).
In the large domestic markets, it contrasted the situation of Russia (with a year-on-year increase of 11%) and China (6.8% more) with the sharp decline in other markets, including the US (-34%), India (-42 %) or Brazil (-60%). -

To those who choose violence, the law awaits them. To those who act like criminals, they will be treated as criminals.
We continue doing what is our duty: we will be in Pastaza tomorrow, together with those who truly build the country, helping those who need it most to produce more and get ahead." - (1/2)
"While some want to stop Ecuador, we propel it forward.
We will reduce the VAT to 8% during the holidays of October 9, and November 2 and 3, because this country is not going to grind to a halt because of a few who lost the business of smuggling and illegal mining.
To boost the local economy, on November 14 we will pay the thirteenth salary to public employees,
so families will have more money during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We invite the private sector to join this initiative." - (2/2)
