05 AUG 2021- 💉 This recent article explains the Ecuador Phoenix Program in more depth:
'In his interview last week, Lasso briefly mentioned the "Phoenix Program to vaccinate in the most remote sectors of the Ecuadorian population with about 4,000 members of the Armed Forces.- ☣️
😷 "The Phoenix Program consists of 10 pillars and has the support of various entities, including the Armed Forces. 👨🏼🎤 Expansion of coverage and access to the Vaccination Plan, coordination of joint actions with public and private entities, logistics, implementation of a unified command center, security in the centers enabled for inoculations and surveillance with technological tools, are some of the axes .
They also include a vaccination scheme in remote areas with difficult access, epidemiological surveillance and monitoring, a network of laboratories, border control and health care.
As indicated by the minister, the presentation of this day began a strategic plan for comprehensive epidemiological control, based on coordination, planning and monitoring at the national level.
As detailed, the first goal is to reduce the transmission of Covid-19, which has a modern surveillance system with diagnosis and application of tests that will allow the isolation and timely treatment of positive cases.
President Guillermo Lasso thanked the support of the National Police, business unions and the National Electoral Council, among others, who participated in a large logistics movement.
In this regard, he specified that the immunization process reached 52 percent of the total population and 70 percent of those over 16 years of age.
On this matter, he said that they are halfway there and mentioned projects to inoculate young children under one year of age against the disease and to apply reinforcements with a third dose." -
